
Gir Jungle Safari
The Gir Jungle Safari, organized by the forest department, offers an exciting 3-hour open jeep ride through the dense forests of Gir National Park. During the safari, visitors have the chance to spot Asiatic lions, leopards, and various other wild animals, birds, and the rich flora and fauna that make Gir forest unique.
Safari Rates and Group Size:
- For Indians: ₹6,500 to ₹6,800 per jeep (up to 6 people of any age + 1 child under 12)
- For Foreigners: ₹15,000 to ₹17,000 per jeep (up to 6 people of any age + 1 child under 12)
Since charges are per vehicle, full payment is required even if the group has fewer people.
Advance Payment for Booking: ₹2,600 to ₹2,900 per vehicle (exact amount provided during booking) Remaining Payment at Safari Boarding: ₹3,900 per vehicle
Package Inclusions:
- Forest department-issued permit for the Gir Jungle Trail
- New, open safari vehicle (A category), driver, and guide (G2 category) approved by the forest department
- GST and payment processing fees
- Service charge for safari coordination and boarding assistance
Exclusions:
- Camera fees: ₹200 per camera for Indian permits and ₹1,800 per camera for foreigner permits (paid at boarding)
- Carrying mobile phones is free of charge.
Reporting Location & Time:
The safari boarding point is Sinh Sadan, Sasan Gir. Visitors should report at least 30 minutes before their scheduled safari time. Ample parking is available for convenience.
Safari Timings and Permit Availability:
There are 3 safari slots each day, and the forest department issues a limited number of permits per time slot. All permits must be booked in advance, as there is no on-the-spot booking available.
